Poll: Advice on new board. RE3, UD7 Class3

Looking to upgrade my P6T Dlx V1 to a newer board for no real reason other than I fancy a change. I run a very sweet 920 that does nice undervolt overclocks [email protected], [email protected]. So I'm looking for a board the will allow fine control over voltages. Would be good to reduce these volts further! It would be nice if I could use C-State to reduce idle but this causes issues. I suspect this won't improve if I swap boards because its all about CPU sleep? Anything that will reduce power consumption is a plus for me but I do need to overclock and might try Crossfire at some point. RE3 goes well with my 800D, black tubing with nickel fittings

Current thinking is

1. RE3
2. UD7 Rev2
3. UD7 Rev1
4. New Classy3, no reviews

No interest in Sandy until the replacement I7 is released.

Any thoughts?

I love my rex3 however is does everything better then my last x58 still cant help feeling it was some a bit of waste of money as its just ott for day to day board. Save some cash go UD7

UD7 does seem a nice board.

The DVID option looks interesting. Looking at the info it looks like its uses VID for idle and then an offset for the overclocked state. From the look of it it might help with C-State to allow a lower idle. Anyone using this feature?

So there are 2 flavours Rev 1 & 2. 24 and 16 phases. Again reading up, Gigabyte are saying that the 16 phases are better than the 24 phases bacause of blah, blah, blah ... Cost cutting of worth while to go for Rev 2?

Yeah I would go with UD7 too. Nice board with everything you could possibly want. Price is pretty good right now too.

I suspect its due to the Rev 1 being 24 Phase = UD9 and Rev 2 being 16 Phase = UD5.

Classy 3

Unfortuantly the UD7 rev2 is no longer the mighty champion it once once. Less phase, no MB waterblock support (old rev1 ones don't fit).

So in summary. The RE3 is terrible but hey people will still buy it cos it is ROG, the UD7 rev2 is pants, so really your only choice is the Classy3.

Rev 1 at the moment. We have 10 instock at the moment our next batch could be rev2!

I hope you will still have the Rev 1 UD7 when i finally wait for my cheque to clear. If not i will get the Class 3. I was gonna get the R3E but people dont seem to like the board much

2 bent cpu pins......sort that in 30 seconds what a bargain
