Hi everyone,

I'm going to be upgrading shortly, so will be selling my old socket 939 stuff... but ive never sold stuff like this before and was hoping someone could give me some advice on the best way to do it!

If I put some of this stuff on eBay whats the best way to package it and send it? Don't want it to get damaged...

Will I need to cover it in something special?

Thanks,

Hennreh

Best bet is to get hold of some anti static bags to wrap things in first, then simply bubble wrap into a relevant size box/bag depending on the item
Youve been a member here a while, if you get posting youll get access to the members market, need to get to 100 posts (without simply spamming) which does a good second hand trade

I am in exactly the same position lol, after an upgrade I have my skt 939 stuff to shift

However the prices on the MM are very competitive and I think ebay generally fetches more, what would you guys advise? still go for MM at lower prices or risk ebay scammers?

Also I misplaced the cpu packaging, how would I transport this safely without bending pins? besides selling it with the mobo

I sold the CPU, motherboard, AGP graphics card and memory seperately, the memory in two lots of 2Gb. I did quite well getting £135 return on (E)bay after costs and fees.

Packaging, I work on the principle of how I would like to receive the item. The CPU should have soft foam on the pin side, a small amount of bubble wrap taped around it and a small stiff card box inside a padded envelope, you will not get complaints then. memory inside a folded stiff card or corrugated card inside a padded envelope, Motherboard should be in a box with bubblewrap and padding to prevent moving. Buy some antistatic bags for memory and cards.

This should be fun!

I'm reallllllly surprised as how much my 939 stuff will sell for. I was actually just going to give it away before I checked!

Socket 939 stuff is still worth money??

Perhaps my current rig will be worth selling on the rather then just burying it up in the loft ....

I am sure that if all working PC's in home and industry were counted, AMD939 would be in the upper 30% usability wise still.

is it not 250 posts? or am I missing something?

By the time various fees are taken off you on eBay (Listing, Final Valuation and Paypal) you looking roughly 15% plus 5% for the hassle of using eBay. I would rather get £80 on MM than £100 on eBay.
