Advice on suitable GPU

I will be buying the very tasty i7 920 OC bundle next month, and was hoping for some advice on which GPU for the UD5 board.

The board is SLI capable, so would it be best to stay with the green team and fit a GTX 275OC / 285 ? (Assuming this would allow future upgrade ability.) Or.....just fit a 4870 x2 and leave it alone ?

Are there any issues I should be aware of ?

Thanks in advance.

I have an i7 920 in my rig at the moment running with a Radeon 4890. I play games at 1920x1200 and I have played everything with the settings maxed.

if you have a res at 1080p or above i would get 2 4890's in crossfire, this will give you a nice boost of fps above 1 card and will be more future proof

It's a good card

I'm running 1920x1080 - what mainboard are you using - will you have the capability to Crossfire in a couple of years if you need to ?

I can rarely afford to upgrade, (old sytem is a P4) so it would pay me to get the best I can afford now.

Yup - 1920x1080
Hmmmm 4890 crossfire. Tasty. What power will they draw ?
Current PSU is an Antec True Power 750W.

I'm running 800W with 2x4890s overclocked and it runs fine. 750W is also enough to run the setup.

Id go with another brand personally, something like corsair, PC P&C etc

Agreed, but the Antec got some good reviews, and I got a good deal at the time.
What about brands on the 4890's ? There seems to be a huge variation in the prices. OCUK have them at £145, but they can range to >£200.
