Thinking about upgrading my pc, excluding the gpu its a good 5 years old.

Currently running
i5 3570k 3.40 ghz
Z77X-UD3H
GTX 1070
16gb ram

How much performance improvements would i get from switching to one of the overclocked bundles?
Was thinking about the genome 1a.

Intel Core i5 9600K 4.80GHz,
ASUS Z390 Motherboard,
Up to 64GB of 3200MHz Memory.
CPU Cooler.

Also want to move to a mid tower case ideally. I pretty much only play path of exile but do mess with AAA games aswell here and there. Any recommendations for a decently priced case, im not too bothered about bright lights. Price wise id like to keep it around £1000 including the case.

Any advice or recommendations would be helpful.

Ryzen might be better bang for your buck but I went from an i7-3770S to an i7-8700, both with a Maxwell Titan X (so about the same as a GTX 1070) and was pleased with the result.

@the0wner122

what monitor res and hz you gaming on ?

also, iof going z390 then Gigabyte Aorus brand are the best hands down, with x570 its closer match

personally , i'll be after doubling your cores! 9700k or 3700x !

thats a lot of RAM! dont even think @tamzzy is rocking that much for CSkylines but might given half the chance .

ocuk i7 prices are quite high..... also Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X is out of stock which saves some cash and does the job! enable MCE and you'll be running 4.9ghz all cores

this would give you max FPS min and high - and best if your running 1080p 144hz+ monitor

+ 2x of these

Ballistix Sport AT 16GB DDR4-3200 UDIMM
BLS16G4D32AEST

Leaves you at £730 - oveclock ram to 3600/3633hz

keeping costs low

Thanks for the suggestions. 1080p monitor at 60hz, thats also on the upgrade list. I may just take the plunge and go full rig and monitor, but about to buy a house, so need to look at what i could pull together budget wise.

Long as you don't get credit to get the parts as will bump your mortgage by an eye watering amount sometimes for something so small/small amount in grand schemes
