Advice on upgrading my PC.

Have you tried following a guide like this:

All sorts of weird crap can negatively effect performance in Rust, I'd give this a go through and see how you get on, it's relevant to your 14900K specifically.

Unfortunately you have really, really slow DDR5 too, looking into clocking that higher if possible might be another avenue, but with a prebuild you might have limited options in that regard. Regardless, I'd follow the above guide before going that route, just hold in mind that it might be beneficial.
I went through it, when I looked at my version on BIOS it was more recent than the official MSI website has a driver for. By 4 months somehow, not sure if I should downgrade to that recent version or keep this newer one? Current driver for the motherboard in BIOS is 08.05.2025 but on the website the most recent was 2025-01-13.

Did you go through and follow it?

You want to run the very latest driver chipset and bios, especially on raptor-lake as they're prone to degradation, follow everything else.

I cannot help beyond what I've linked and already stated, it's a dodgy game and you're on a platform you need to understand and make the best of before making major changes.

Good luck!

Is it worth it? Would it make the game better? I know going from 60hz to 144hz was insane.
The picture quality is superb but you would have to move to up resolution to 1440p , it's something to consider and enter at £350.

Yeah I'm just finishing all the stuff that requires system restart and BIOS as last. I did see in the replies to the post that getting x3d made a massive difference to everyone with FPS. Thanks for the help mate.

Yeah I bet it is but that would mean even less FPS, have to balance it out somehow.
