hi guys

so I'm wondering what fans I should go for on my 2x 240mm 60mm thick radiators in the new lian li case when it arrives.

I already have some artic 120mm pwm and some air rippers but wondering if there are any quieter fans?..these seem to be quite until they get on the radiator.

I was looking at the

Cant really go wrong with the Noctuas - apart from looks they are probably the best. The noiseblockers look interesting but I seem to remember a review that stated they were not particularly quiet. Noctuas are not silent on max setting - run them around 800-1000 rpm and they are fine.

If there's space you may want to consider going push/pull - beyond a certain thickness, radiators restrict airflow enough that the extra surface area is negated by reduced flow. Push/pull helps this because it doesn't flow more air per se than one fan, but it increases static pressure so they achieve their target air flow.

there wont be room for push pull with 60mm radiators.

would I be better ditching the 2x 240 60mm rads and going for thin 360 rads, would that drop the noise?

You could probably calculate the difference in cooling, considering it'd be 6 versus 4 fans and different speeds probably. There are some delta-T calculators available online. My gut feeling is that more radiator space means slower fans but that's in terms of noise, not temperatures.

well at the moment I'm cooling a 1070 with full block and a 8600k delided on a single 420mm slim xspc radiator and temps are perfect,1070 stays under 45c and 8600 under 55 stress testing and that's with the fans almost silent, this is all built into my desk.

so with that in mind I think I could get away with 2x 240mm thin radiators or 2x360 ones...I didn't really think about the noise when I bought the thick radiators and kinda jumped feet first.
