Is it safe for me to use these volts on cpu ?? :

heat not voltage is the main killer of cpus, if the temperature is fine, then there wont be a problem :)
Not entirely true - by putting more volts through, you speed up electron migration in the processor and fasten its degredation.

However, are you sure that you're putting this many volts through the CPU? Without decent watercooling / phase cooling, your temperatures would be through the roof! Have a look at the VCore figure in the BIOS - I would imagine that this is merely a mis-representation in Windows. My board does this as well, reporting a VCore of 1.4V as 1.792V in Windows.

What is your setup and what temps are you getting reported?

// EDIT // Beat me with the temps. That load figure is just fine. It is impossible that you're putting 1.66V through if you're getting those temps on air. Take a look in the BIOS.

And what about the VCore figure in the BIOS? That is the actual voltage that is going through the CPU.

Never forget that mostly ... WINDOWS LIES!

vcore is set to 1.650

All i want to do is get my cpu to do more than 2.4ghz but i cant manage to do it without the extra volts

Have a look here. You should be able to get that without raising VCore that much. Take the data there with a pinch of salt - the results are prone to idiots (e.g. e-6 did not get 6GHz out of his!).

What cooling do you have there? Some of the higher positions in the table are using dry-ice and phase change cooling with voltages not that much higher than yours.

When it comes to voltage, windows lies and the bios lies. DMM is the only way to know for sure.

If those volts are accurate, which I doubt, they're fine for a Newcastle.
