Advice please.

You can't prove it was the curry that made you ill. Could just be a random stomach bug, who knows? Especially that no one else was ill.

I can't even believe you are thinking of going down the route of compo. The curry house will do nothing for you, stop being a blame-culturist, compo seeking tumor on society.

Fair enough on the bug. I wasn't seeking compo. I had a dodgy pizza from another take-away and they apologised and gave me a free meal...

Food poisoning usually has an incubation period, doesn't it? Which means that actually pinpointing what gave you the illness isn't straightforward.

Clearly never had food poisoning, have you? Last time I had it dropped over a stone and a half in 4 days and wouldn't wish it on my worse enemy.

WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO EAT FROM A PLACE THAT ALREADY GAVE YOU FOOD POISONING!!!11!

Unless they didn't, and you are after a free meal. Food poisoning is bad for business, and as such you'll find it fairly rare. FWIW if you had genuine food poisoning I doubt you'd be posting about it on OCUK right now

This.

Plus I just cant take anything that OP says with any sort of credability following his lottery win.

Without tests you'd be hard proved to demonstrate that the curry directly caused your symptoms. If your friends ate the same as you then this would indicate maybe it wasn't the curry if however they didn't then may be you're correct. Despite what people have said in this thread food poisoning will not necessarily make you really ill - it depends on what is actually in the food. Maybe the way you should look at it is that it is most likely food poisoning and that on the grand scale of things you are lucky that you only have mild symptoms and not severe ones.

Food poisonings from restaurants is fairly uncommon compared to home and community acquired intestinal infections, in many cases passed to Environmental Health Officers there is no further action performed because a specific pathogen can not be isolated or the isolated pathogen indicates community source.

As to those saying if you had food poisoning you'd be no good for anything, the most common bacterial intestinal infection is Campylobacater and most cases of that are nothing more than 'uncomfortable'.

I've only had food poisoning once, probably from undercooked meat from a barbecue, and was seriously out of action for 5 days. Weak as a kitten and well over a stone lighter.
