Advice Required: First Time Buyer

another one is always go to see it at random times during the day, of course the areas gonna be quiet during the day but whats it like at night?? ;)

With regards to being a first time buyer I would also watch 'Whistleblower' on BBC1 tonight. You may not be looking in London but still...

Shocking I tell thee.. I have more details into what they are investigating, but not as a link so email if you want... too much to post on here - it would hurt your eyes!

Good luck!

If it's new you shouldn't need a survey, the NCHB gurantee will see you right, plus the 1year (or whatever it happens to be) snagging period.

Pity about the heating, you see this a lot on modern developments, although if it doesn't bother you that's fine - just not a fan myself. Is there any gas in the property at all? Cooking is a right bia-tch on electric hobs :D

I am quite sure its not that new, but it looks like it won't need re-wiring, but the Survey report should tell me everything what I need to know.

I am a bit disappointed that its all sparky, but begger can't be choosers at the moment. I do have lots of other property now to look at as well, so I will keep an open mind.

Lots of good advice above, one thing I'd say is that you should look at a few places first to get an idea of the market before making any offers, also dont be afraid to revist a property preferably at a different time from your first visit.

Me I prefer places with crap wall paper etc, its bargaining power, plus you get to make the place look like you want. YMMV
