Hi all, first of all thank god for this forum, im starting to undestand things.
Secondly I had to choose the component from retailers around where i live(Switzerland) because else the shipping is too high.

Intel Core Duo E2180 2.0Ghz 800Mhz 1Mo/S775
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3
Cooler Artic Cooling Freezer 7Pro
Miditower Antec Nine Hundred
Asus Extreme N8800GT/G/HTDP - 512 MB DDR
DDR2 2x 1 GB DIMM Corsair Twin2X
500 GB SpinPoint P160

Looks nice if you can spare the cash I'd add on a sound card as well but thats just personal preference. :)

Aero

Yes i will use the PSU and the DVDRW from my current comptuer. I was thinking about buying an External Sound card so i could hook up my turntables in there but i think it's another subject :p

the psu i will use is a 500W one will that be okay?

also wondering, will the cooler fit in the nine hundre ?

Can you tell me which numbers i should be looking for Power and Amps ? i'll get a new one i guess cause this is one is a "no brand" one i think would be sad with my nice shiny new stuff :p

There is a problem with the GFX card apparently the Asus Extreme is out of stock and wont be available before january. I could get the following brand, does it change a lot ?

- EVGA e-GeForce 8800GT 512MB
- Gigabyte GeForce 8800GT 512MB

Good spec,

You will need to overclock that CPU though to make the best of it, but it will work well.

from a few benches ive seen the e2180 is almost the same as the e6750 (both overclocked to roughly same speed)

sound card is a must for gaming, and im not sure about hooking up your turntables, but getting those bay's for the X-fi should work?

something like this mabye? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-050-CL&groupid=701&catid=11&subcat=

Either one of those cards will be fine, it'll make very little difference. Since you're getting a PSU now I would recommend the Corsair HX520. Its quiet and good quality and will power those components no worries

if you are getting a new psu then another vote from me for the Corsair HX520

ive got one in my system and its ever so quiet

ok thanks i'll try to look if i can find that one

Edit: I Found a 520 Watt, Corsair HX Series, 12 cm fan :)

Since i got all the hardware i need, i was wondering if anyone could point me on posts so i could read about overclocking the E2180, i heard it was easy but can i simply OC it in the bios or do i need special apps ?

You will require the following:

orthos to stress test you chip for O/C stability

Down load http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/385a/orthos_exe_20060420.cab

Also CPUID (CPUZ) for overclock and memory info

Down load http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-142.zip

core temp to monitor your temps while stress testing http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/CoreTempBeta.zip

If you want to additionally use core temp with vista. To get Coretemp 0.95.4 working in Vista X64 without having to disable the driver signing requirement.

file download from here http://forums.erodov.com/local_links.php?action=jump&id=11&catid=18

Extract this to your favorite directory (say C:\CoreTemp) Just make sure before you start the actuall "CoreTemp.exe", you run "coretemp-startup.bat" first
