advise of upgrade

i currently have an radeon x800XT 256mb gfx card in my comp. Now i don't play too many games but would like to go the next step up. Only playing things such as the new rail sim from Kugi, microsoft rail sim etc. Looking to spend around £70. Is it worth upgrading?
e6300, 1gig ram.

I'd suggest the next worthwhile step to be an X1950pro brand new but they start at around £90 here or if secondhand isn't an issue to you either an X19x0 series card or a 79x0 series card.

You can get an X1950Pro 256MB for about £70 I think now, that would make a very nice upgrade.

Nope, at best it is a sideways step from the limited amount I know about the X1650, there is now an OcUK X1950pro at ~£75 so well worth the price.

Yeah, I'd say the X1950Pro is your best bet. Cheaper than that I'd say either a 8600GT or a 2600XT - there not much of an upgrade though, and not much cheaper either.

just bought a Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro 256mb gddr3 for £55 second hand as new. Is this a decent price and can i expect a decent jump in performance?

sounds good! another gig of RAM would be a good upgrade for games aswell.

should be really good performance increase with that card
