Advise on New Build

LOL
I didn't realize that I had selected 4GB instead of 8GB RAM (Doh!)

So yes, i would go with those but apart from that I am set with a good enough build?

Everything looks good, would look at modular PSU though like the Silverstone I specc'd

Worth noting as well that the weekly deals change tomorrow.

Modular means you only plug in the cables you require.
Non modular comes with all the cables attached which in a midi case can cause a lot of mess!

Ah, is there much price difference between a modular and non-modular one?

I can always use cable ties to push the cables away if the cost is that much different

All ordered online
Went with the finance option so once the Hitachi Capital agreement is signed off and sent over to Overclockers Head Office I expect the order with progress to despatch stage.

Thanks for the help guys (aside from a few minor substitutions I mostly went with the majority of what Bacon suggested)

Thanks again to Overclockers, good website, good prices and good finance options

Next step (once all approved) will be to build the sucker!
Not built a PC since 2002 but from the online videos and guides I have recently caught up on it seems a lot simpler than it used to be and with the snap locking drive bays and cable management of the cases, modular PSUs and simple CPU installs it seems that I will have to remember very little aside from making sure I have a good block of time (few hours) free to build it, static free environment and follow a plan to get it built well.

Its all good... (famous last words)

So what did you go for in the end?

And good luck on the build, make a build log while your at it! :)

Unsure of what constitutes a build log.
If its a journal of me doing it or pictures of me doing it as i go along, i suppose thats an idea but i can see myself dropping my camera onto the CPU of the mobo part way through the build at just the right angle to not only damage the CPU but crack my camera too.. lol, just my luck!

This is what I ended up with (total basket price of £668.99 inc delivery)
NOTE : It's over the budget i was going for of £600 but aside from me sacrificing the PSU, Heatsink or Mobo, the only way i was going to get to the £600 mark for my needs was dropping the 7870 to a 7850. In theory that wouldn't be that much of a difference in performance comparatively but the benchmarks and performance of the 7870 just really cries out "buy me" and it sits at a lovely price that is justifiable for a i-dont-want-to-be-replacing-the-gpu-for-a-good-few-years build whilst not selling a kidney to get it

Hmmm I wouldn't have gone for the DS3H :/
Its a gimped version with worse onboard sound (if any) and less overclocking ability I think.

Oops I wanted to go for the Dsh but got the ds3h instead. Just goes to show multi tasking with pizza in one hand and iPad in the other is not a good plan.

I know the ds3h has no vcore support so limits over clocking, not what I want and for 9 quid difference it isn't worth losing that. I am sure if I call customer services and offer to pay the 9£ extra on card they will be fine with it, after all the last thing I want to do is cancel the approved finance over a 9 quid discrepancy!
