i have some adware on my gaming pc, i didnt install an av as i wanted it to run as best as possible but after the adware i got spybot search and destroy but it isnt getting rid of all of it, are there any other lightweight applications i can use for free

lastly does anyone know if spybot s-d is active all the time as it looks like only te-timer is active permanantly and it looks like it just stops processes from running
can anyone tell me if i am correct
edit upon further inspection it uses more resources than msn messenger, is this good or bad. i wouldnt want to loos a few fps in games due to it (especially in crysis where every little helps)
