Adwords help

Hi all,

I've basically been given a large budget to take over from Yell for our AdWords campaign.

Problem is, I know nothing about AdWords.

Other than googles own documents, anyone any good links to guides/hacks for adwords and getting the most out of it?

We've only been doing organic SEO until now and it's done well, however, they've just decided to land us with a £7k a month adwords budget and a days crash course on how to use adwords. None of us have any experience and I am the most technical of the group so all the reporting etc will land on my desk.

I used it a long time ago but haven't in recent years. I believe you can set it up in tandem with Google Analytics to record whether you are converting on specific goals. If you want to find specialists, it may be worth searching for marketing conferences and looking at speaker lists.

There was one good speaker at Brighton SEO (#brightonseo on Twitter), who does PPC. He did a presentation on geotargetting Facebook ads at low cost. He might have something on AdWords. Sorry I can't remember his name but he does car dealer PPC marketing in the US. If you look at the speaker list from this year you'll probably find him.

Thanks, we did look at Brighton SEO but it was the day it started so no point. We are considering it for next year though.
