After an external solution

After something supporting RAID1, only needs to be 2 drives, no need for more, and if it comes with drives anything over 320gb of space.

Anyone recommend me anything? I'm currently using a buffalo terastation which im borrowing from work termporarily but i need a permanent solution, also looking to pay as little as possible though from the looks of things it'll be over £100

An old machine and either Openfiler or FreeNAS.

I forgot all about using an old machine, problem is though i would want it left on 24/7 and (correct me if im wrong) i think an old machine would add to the electricity bill far more than an independent NAS box, also takes up more space and im after just sitting something next to the sofa out of the way.

If i was to use a PC i would be after something the size of an intel atom machine but i don't think theres any way of putting two drives in them let alone using RAID on them

I noticed there is a new icy box out soon, any opinions on that?

that icy box looks nice, reckon it may be quite pricey tho

£132 preorder at a competitors site, not a great deal more than the current icybox, only found it earlier on and i think it might end up being what i go for but im still undecided
