AMD Opteron 64 UP 146 (2.0Ghz) S939 1Mb OEM
Asrock 939DUAL-SATA2 S939 PCI-E/AGP USB2 Lan 7.1Ch Audio
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro - S754/939/940
all for the princly sum of £195.44 inc P&P
does that sound like a fair deal. and will I get a decent boost over my xp2500 @ 3200 speeds
hopefully offloading my xp2500, abit NF7-S 2.0 and Thermalright SP97 HSF should offset some of the cost.
someone tell me its worthwhile upgrade upgrade before I bottle out

kidloco said:It is at present. it used to run fine at ultra speeds, then the odd game used to get corruption on so i back it off back to GT speeds. its fitted with a zalman VGA copper cooler so heat isnt an issue.
guess I better order then bits then eh
kidloco said:well I ordered the opteron 146 and the asrock mobo. oh and the freezer pro HSF, should be with me in a day or too. heres hoping I get a good chip.

With the CPU overclocked to say 2.5GHz (250 x 10) this will give you a RAM speed of 207MHz, only fractionally above spec. My Corsair 2GB set runs fine at 218MHz @ 2.5-3-3-6 1T, so I foresee no problems for you.
