Basically building my first rig for the first time in around 2 weeks time. I am pretty confident about fitting the components etc as long as I take my time. However something I am a bit nervous about is the very first boot up once the pc has been fitted together. Is it as simple as inserting win 7 disk, bios boot from disk and away we go ? Sorry I know this is somewhat of a basic question but couldnt find any info anywhere else in other threads.

When your ready to start-up for the first time (I tend to-do a CMOS reset first) press del to enter the BIOS and check the cpu temp for a few minutes just to make sure your not running at 80c odd.
Change the boot sequence to enable your DVD / CD as the first boot device, stick your Windows disc in, save and exit, you shold hopefully boot from the disc and follow on screen instructions.

Perfect mate, just put the disc in, hit F12 (or whatever the boot selection is) select to boot from disc, it will then say "Press any key to boot from disc..." hit a random key on your keyboard and your off into the GUI (graphical user Interface) of a nice Windows 7 installation :)

If you can't find your boot selection key, just set your DVD drive as your primary boot device in your BIOS ;)

Haha, gotta have confidence or you're bound to fail! As long as you've specced it out properly nothing can go wrong on your part, only faulty parts are worth worrying about, and there's no point worrying about them cause that won't change anything!

Im confident enough to do it, just i know its going to be a tense couple of mins on the first bout up ^^. So once ive followed all of that through and windows is installed are the no drivers i need to install for the mobo, obviously i will have to for the GPU. Sorry for all the questions its just I want to know as much as possible :) so I dont have sleepless nights once i have purchased :P
