Long time member who has been in a hiatus due to working commitments. After also stepping away from the PC gaming arena for a while I have decided to return. So I would like to upgrade my system as cost affective as possible but retain at least a minimum to medium spec for most games.

My current spec is:

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 AM4
Asus ROG STRIX B40-F Mobo
64GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 PC3200
Radeon RX 570 8GB

What are my options for pre owned or new at a cost effective range and still be able to play most games?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Budget as low as possible. I suppose anything between £100-£150 per piece of hardware.
For playability a 5600/5600X and an RX 6600 is the minimum I'd spend.

Just the GPU would show a decent increase in many games (is around twice as fast as the RX 570).

Something like a 5700X3D and 6750 XT are highly recommended for the longer-term, if you can up your budget.

PSU is a Aerocool Cylon 700w 80+ bronze.

That PSU is a budget unit I personally would look at changing it sooner than later.

I think you should put your money into a new GPU it's where your gonna get the most performance as you CPU is not to bad.

£300 will get you a 6750xt which will double and some the performance of the Rx 570 and can suited to 1440p

If not wanting to go that route the Rx 6600 for £180 is double the FPS and more suited for 1080p.

Thanks all. I'll start looking at those recommendations.
FYI: I'd highly recommend you keep the 6600 as a minimum, the cards within your budget of £100-£150 (at least, new) are barely an upgrade. The 6400 even comes out slower and the 6500 XT just a bit faster, but it is hugely compromised by having 4GB of memory (especially on PCIE3) which makes your RX 570 arguably superior.

If you're not opposed to second hand you could check the Members Market on OCUK, maybe put in a GPU request in the wanted section.

You should be able to nab a 3070 or 6700XT etc for under £200 with a little luck.

If you only have a budget of around £300 then you’d be best putting it all on the gpu rather than splitting between a cpu and gpu.

I've got tg
he 8GB 570. I wonder if the extra ram fairs much better?

I thought the requirement was just 1000 posts?
plus I think 15 posts on a rolling 90 day basis, so @*FLASH* you only need to post 9 more times :)

For that budget, just a GPU upgrade and see how you go -

should be almost twice as fast as your 570:

If willing to go second hand you should be able to get an RTX 3060 (or 3060ti) for around the same.

If you still find the CPU lacking, a 5700x3d as mentioned above can be had VERY cheap if you look about and you won't do better on AM4 for value.
