Sigh, haven't even finished with WarZ

Hammerpoint is planning to abandon WarZ in 2013.
http://venturebeat.com/2012/12/17/a...ame-studio-hammerpoint-interactive-exclusive/

In that article a nugget is buried:

"Los Angeles-based Hammerpoint will announce its next game in early 2013 and will release it in the third quarter of 2013."

As they did with WarINC they will probably move the entire team from WarZ to this new game and cease support for WarZ.

If they need to they will probably scrap the hammerpoint name, absorb everything back into Arktos and start a new company, as they did when they switched from WarINC to WarZ.

You're right Neil they haven't even finished with War Z. This comes as no surprise sadly. Reading about the devs, they are so fly by night it's unreal.

The footage does look amazing though, can't wait to try this one!

So they make a game under a company, fund it and create it until about early early early beta, take everyones money, absolve everything and form into a different company make another, then the same again?

Surely that's fraud of some kind?

Apparent proof of new game from Titov. Will be announced closer to February 2013.

A project called War Inc 2.0 in there as well.

The bald guy, again!

Surely war inc, war z and now this are just the same game rehashed..talk about lazy. Just put all efforts into making one game decent and stop milking it with all these "new" games.

Bankruptcy is not great for their 600k paying customers for war z who will be unable to get a refund or play the game. But they certainly need a reality check of some sort and to rethink their entire strategy.

No that's customers willing to pull their pants down and get shafted! and actually enjoy it

Lol, all those people vehemently defending War Z and its development, the model they're using to generate cash, and the recent behaviour if their moderating staff. etc. All coming home to roost now.

If War Z does get canned as people are suggesting I think a lot of people in the War Z thread deserve an apology.

My 2p.

Why is anyone even paying attention to these cowboys? You were an idiot to buy the game when it was obvious what sort of state it was in, and you'll be an even bigger idiot if you so much as entertain the idea of buying any of their future products.

no they won't they'll keep their trousers down in anticipation of more shafting from the WarZ devs.

But an appology is wishful thinking. :D

why would we we got warZ for a zombie survival and its a decent game to play right now imo im happy with it, I just hope it doesn't get canned now = ( i won't buy another game from them but i still think warZ was worth the £13 i've had many hours out of it so far...

I think it's very bad news for gaming that anyone is giving these people money, the last thing we need is more developers believing there's any money to be made churning out games in this fashion. Unfortunately some people seem happy to have payed money for WarZ. :(
