Aftermoon - New Game from WarZ Developers

Oh look, they're taking that same game and making changes to it and re-releasing it.
Cute.

I honestly think that people got conned with WarZ and it's some sort of crazy purchase justification, I want to know what thought process went through peoples minds.
I try not to say things like this as their 99.99% wrong to do so, but what the **** did gamers see in this? Have they not played the hundreds of other games out there to bring contrast, was this their first game ever? DO YOU HAVE STANDARDS? AHHHGH :( Regardless of the game itself, the whole background to the company and developers was enough to put me off let alone the game.

I guess people were like "whatever, zombies, £££".
Please, do not give these devs any more money, they need to be taking off the market.

I know these are tough economic times and so on.. but since when was $15 a significant amount of money to spend on a game? Its less than a decent take away.

I took a punt on War Z.. had some fun with it, and wont be giving them any more cash.

Its not the game thats necessarily so bad, but the attitude of the producers. For similar reasons, I wont give EA any more of my money either (probably) as I dont like their business practices, even though the games themselves are often very good.

Depends on how you value money I guess. And how greedy you are apparently, because I certainly never spend that much on food for myself.

Touche! That would be a large pizza and sides for me. I don't do Pot Noodle and chips any more. :)

But regardless.. You can't say I have been ripped off if I am enjoying the game.

Sad thing is that $15 could go towards several small scale indie developers that actually care about their customers. The WarZ developers clearly don't once the payment stage has been achieved. I think this whole thing could really set small scale developers back a lot by destroying trust towards the industry.

exactly Eza, all these moaners I never played war inc i don't care about it, i bought a zombie game cheap and i like it, "people saying similar things too "if you bought it your a idiot" can get lost we don't care for your opinion if your going to be like that, Sure a lot of people will be anoyed there already looking at another game as long as this one still gets updated regular whats the problem...

I liked the sound of the wind; wish more games would have that strength of effect. The breathing, on the other hand, sounded like a snot rocket marathon.

I believe some people paid $50.00 for this for the additional gold coins *facedesk*

That's a few pizzas, and a few sides too.

The ambient noises are pretty damn good actually, although a bit OTT at times. I was in the north yesterday and heard wolves howling for the first time, really quite eerie.

The out of breath noise is awful.. Agreed! :p

The footage does look amazing though, can't wait to try this one!
Got a proper laugh out of me.

Everything this company has ever done is terrible. Everyone knew they were trying to cash in on DayZ. They have absolutely no pedigree for game making (I have played War INC, for my sins) and people still bought WarZ!

I don't have any sympathy at all for those who've been scammed, you were warned constantly and chose to ignore all the rational voices. If it looks like a turd and smells like a turd, it's probably a turd.

No you're thinking about it wrong, it's not that you spent $15, it's that 600,000 people (was it?) spent at least that. Showing that no matter what, people will buy it.

I still think people are completely off the mark with WarZ as far as that goes for a game. WarZ is the absolute best in the survival MMO genre by the length of a football pitch, it completely blows DayZ away. Sadly though, it has to be attached to a company like this, where it seems the game from this point on is going to be at the risk of being canned, because the developers or a bunch of crooks.

As for the people who bought WarZ, they are hardly stupid, playing DayZ makes you realise how good this entire concept is, but DayZ's execution (so far) is abysmal and WarZ feels so much better. That isn't me justifying a purchase btw, as I only ever played a trial, but as far as the WarZ players on here go, they are hardly 'stupid' or idiots, they went for the best there is and sadly that came attached to a company like this.

I just don't know how anybody in their right mind can think this? I really can't. Are you joking or have you played different games to the rest of us? Dayz is clunky yes, to be expected from a mod for a war sim. But War Z better, and by a mile? What crack have you been smoking?

The animation, textures, small game world, global inventory, not being able to swim, no vehicles, bad sound effects, damage from walking down hills... The list goes on. Even looking at it from an unbiased point of view, War Z is like the Gobots of Dayz's Transformers.

I only played WarZ for about 2 hours, so I didn't get to give it the full treatment, but from what I played, the fundamentals are leaps and bounds above DayZ. These games are all about the element of sneaking past the undead, looting areas and PVP contact. WarZ does it brilliantly, where as DayZ, at the moment is awful, you can't go through doors crouching, you have to stand up to go through in which case will attract every Zombie around you. You can't go down hills on DayZ either, and the textures in ArmA are equally as atrocious.

The zombies in DayZ literally remind me of chickens when they attack, go watch a cockfight, that to me seems to be what they used as the animations for DayZ. :(

DayZ for anyone who got it while it was new, is going to cost them almost £40 for the game; ArmA II combined .Ops + standalone is going to set me back £35 if the standalone is any good (which I'm all over at the minute, so I'm not a DayZ hater), where as WarZ is £9, can't really go wrong with that tbh.

yeah, for £9 the game was worth it. I got a ton of gametime out of it, and i dont regret it. It's a fun game and I enjoyed it more than what I played of dayz, just hope standalone is better because I'd rather play a game that will last :P

I crouch through doorways all of the time, only a problem when you try and turn in the doorway, which is annoying but that's been fixed in a separate mod for arma. So that's a problem with arma, not Dayz. I have only ever been injured on the very steepest slopes of mountains as well. But again that's an issue with arma.

All of these issues are because of Dayz being a mod. You said that it cost people £40 for Dayz, no, it cost £40 for arma Co, Dayz is a free mod. If people decide to spend that on a game with no intentions of playing it and only playing a mod then that's their loss.

The War Z is basically a mod too, a mod of a game that was terrible to begin with, it's a quick cash in and they have tried to force a zombie survival game into a game engine that simply isn't up to the task. Except they are charging money for it with added microtransactions.

People can play it all they want and enjoy it all they want. Some people prefer to eat in a Burger King than in a decent restaurant, that's fine, it's their choice. But they would be crazy to say their burger is of higher quality than my fillet steak.
