I'd have thought most of the current crop of designer men's fragrances would fit that bill; other than the sweet night-out friendly orientals like [Le Male and Joop Homme], light and fresh is still the dominant trend.
Two that immediately came to mind:
Bulgari Pour Homme - It's light and pleasing, based around tea with some ginger warmth, but without being too short-lived. More classy than you might think, what with it being a Bulgari! You simply can't put too much of this stuff on
Mugler Cologne - Longer-lasting than the 'cologne' name might suggest. Is more complex than the Bulgari, and by that I don't mean it's heavier; I mean that there are lots of little 'notes' going on throughout the wear. Fresh, and a bit soapy to start with - never a bad thing in an office, don't let that put you off - I dismissed this one at first sniff as too bland, only to find myself coming back to it over and over. Good stuff, and surprisingly cheap on t'Ebay, where you can get 2x75ml 'refill' bottles for much less than your budget.
I'd imagine both of those are available to test from department stores like House Of Fraser, Fenwicks, etc. You know the ones... they look down on TJ Hughes... but they look up to John Lewis
Considering fragrances are my hobby, and Basenotes is my go-to source of info, I really ought to get my hands on some Guerlain Vetiver at some point. A squillion Basenoters can't be wrong, can they?

Blimey. I wouldn't have thought 16-year-old girls would want their boys smelling of musky urinal cakes!
Then again, it's not an arena I've been in for twenty years...

Seriously though I suggest Bulgari Pour Homme
I used to use CK: Crave but when it got phased out, I moved to using CK:In2U which is a similar scent and quite nice.

Might get stopped off in debenhams and see if they stock it. have a quick smell and then off to order it much cheaper online

I hate smelling different stuff in shops as I always get swarmed by attentive sales people. I'm not a shopper, I'm a purchaser of goods - leave me alone or advise me if I ask for it!
Consequently I tend to wear Hugo by Hugo Boss and pretty much nothing else. I like it, the Mrs likes it, everyone's happy. But I do fancy a change, it's a very old scent - I just need something for general office wear that will last all day.
I can't be doing with many modern fragrances which are just to sweet (there's a bloke at work who must douse himself in about half a litre of Cool Water every lunchtime)
I like citrus smells, hate musky smells, anything anywhere near Vanilla and super sweet smells are out too.
I can't wear anything endorsed by rappers or idiots. In fact I'd be keen to stick with another Boss product given the choice.
Any reccomendations of ones to try?
anyone got any good recommendations for a nice new summer scent? cheers!
Davidoff - Cool Water (cant believe so many people recommended this. Smelt like the toilet biscuit that is put in mens urinals. 1/5 stars)
I have had a lot of aftershaves/scents and the one that impresses the ladies the best is without a shadow of a doubt Paco Rabanne - Ultraviolet.
Every time i have worn it or friends have worn theirs the ladies in the group have complimented the wearer.
unfortunately its getting on a bit now (in age). i do like paco robannes black XS though. more of a wintery scent though.
