Age difference in a relationship

I would beg to differ. I know a number of 15/16/17 year olds and there really isnt a great deal of difference between the ages. One is going into GCSE, one has just emergered from them. Hence why im questioning what exactly is going on when 15, the cry is 'Hang him!' and 17 'Fair play'. Saying that I think something is wrong isnt a statement of authority its an opinion. Who are you to say my opinion is stupid?*

And dont say a mod that isnt my point :p

I'm saying your opinion is stupid because it was inflammatory and unnecessary.

IMO there's a massive difference between a person of 15 and a person of 17.

BTW in other, more liberal countries the age of consent is lower. Kids are seen to be adults sooner. We are a rather conservative country in this respect. I see the main reason between people's views on 15yo and 17yo is thats what we're taught. 15 is wrong and 17 is right.

I was 2 months shy of 17 when I met Jhadur and the idea of him trying to manipulate me is laughable. People who know us will probably agree.

As someone else pointed out, maturity is not based on age - due to various things that happened in my life, I had to gown up very fast and even now I would say my maturity level is higher than Jhadurs.

Yes, you may have your own opinion, and age gaps like that my offend your sensibilities, but until you have the experience of being in that situation all you have is an idea of what its like, no facts, no knowledge, no proof.
 
i think your looking into it too closely and comparing things

not all 17 year olds are still at school, not all 17 year olds are immature like others are. same for 16 as well

i left school at 16 and i definitely didnt behave the way some do. i was even engaged to my then bf who was older (he was 20)


even my nan who would be over 100 if she was alive today, got married at 17

everyone is different

glad yer happy though mate, 7 years isnt all that far apart, butlike fox said different ages sometimes want different things but if you can compromise (which is essential when dealing with any female of the species) you should be fine.


Locrian I see what yer saying as well but I think it was more badly worded than anything tbh, personally I'm 26 and I wouldnt go near a 16/17 year old




mainly cos I'm married and the wife would chop me bits off :p

Because by your mid twenties you are learned of life enough to know what you want and how to get it. 2 of my friends have got stung recently, both 19, both mature for their ages and both undeserving of what they went through. One was dating a 25 year old, he told her he loved her, draw her in, stole her chastity and then left. The other was dating a guy in his mid thirtys, married and with kids. He has lied, cheated and lied again with her. Basically, by giving older men a free reign over those who have only just come of age you are creating a large number of chances whereby they will act selfishly and maliciously for what they want

Anyways with regards to age difference, whatever floats your boat. Im 33 and id be hard pressed to even consider dating a 17/18 yr old..first of all because id be labelled a cradle snatcher by my mates and secondly they arent as mature as i am but then im not all that mature myself at times:p. But as i said whatever floats your boat, i dont agree with it in the slightest but if your happy then thats cool.

As i was saying im 33 and my gf is 25 which is just about my limit for younger women, any younger than that...they just cant seem to get on my level etc. Saying that though, my gf even though shes 25 still acts like a kid at times...its endearing thats for sure...and she always has this habit of making me laugh with the things she says and does.

It was nothing to do with it not matching that of the main body. Christ, you're talking to me. I'll stick by an opinion til the cows come home. However, I wouldn't be as daft to call someone's marriage 'wrong'.
