Age of Empires alternatives

I'm not great at it but we should try and get a MP game going. Straying from the original point of our posts but hey.

aoe3 was terrible, in no way did i feel i was playing an aoe game. everything changed for the worse i can't believe they were allowed to create that game.
imo best game would be star wars clone campaigns. such a brilliant game me and my brohter still play fortnightly and have amazing amounts of fun. one of the best was actully last weekend we were playig defend the monument me and him on one team then3 others teams of 2. both being attacked from either side, but he was doing better so sent people my way, this allowed me to finish one team but his walls had been broken into and was massively being beaten. i sent a massive army his way slowly making his town safe and then defending for him while he built an army big enough to kill them. then we focused on commanding the monument for 100days and built a massive base around it constantly being attacked until we eventually won.
was so good many turns in the game, one minute winning, then about to die, then back to being strongest in the game etc.
get clone campaigns, must be pennies on ebay, and i'm sure you wont be disappointed.

yeah, they greatly improved it as well so it's basically aoe2 with loads of improvements.
afaik clone campaigns comes with galactic battlegrounds which is the original needed but always best to make sure.
