Aggressive Charities

Only one time I stopped was to a really nice girl who was quite good at expressing her point. I said i would give some money on the spot and she refused to accept asking me to sign up to direct debits for monthly payments which associated a "minimum amount" with it. I said no and walked off.

I always find it funny when the people stop for the girls because they think they might be in with a chance because she is being a bit flirty.

Hmmmmmmm I wonder why she is being flirty.....

This is why I hate charities - the majority of them are leechers, who want some fund to pay their admins with, and give bosses a company car.

I just say no thanks, works 99% of the time :) If they persist I just tell them that I'd never give my personal details out to anyone on the street no matter what the cause was supposed to be.

Once got stopped unaware, wasn't wearing bright red so I couldn't look like I was going to kill him and he was supporting this childrens charity, becuase children of the world live in damp conditions and have no friends because of it. First thing I noticed on the picture was the gameboy advance he was playing on. So the parents are too lazy to wash his clothes but they can afford to get him consoles? Hell am I going to support that!

Instead I started talking about putting kids down, if they are really hard done they should be out of their misery. The look on his face was classic as I started talking about how I'd support their cause if they made the world a better place by killing off the needy. Needless to say he didn't want to take my details and wished me on my way.

Lincoln High st. is one long paved area where 5-6 of these "supporters" loiter with clipboards, it can be quite tricky avoiding them all.

She refused a job because they paid too much?

She has a concience, my grandfather was blind and she felt it was sick and disgusting that a registered charity would offer such a salary. If more people had the same morale standards people wouldn't e becoming very rich running charities.

I don't know this for fact but I'm willing to bet that the directors of Oxfam get paid a very impressive amount and have a nice final salary pension scheme and some cushy executive kickbacks!

what kind of job was it/what kind of salary. If I don't have a conscience, could i apply?

She could've took the job then paid a particular amount to a charity. :p

My normal repsonse to the street guys is "if i wanted to make a difference i would go out to somewhere and help but i don't so **** off."
