Hi
I made my first venture into the world of SSD but I'm having some issues.
Let me first explain my setup.
I have an AsRock 890fx Deluxe 4 motherboard.
This board has 6x ports connected to AMD SB850. In addition it has 2x ports connected to a Marvell SE9120.
At the moment I have 4 x Samsung F1 1TB drives connected to ports 1-4 on the SB850. When I got my agility, I connected it to port 6 on the SB850, went into the bios and set "disable SATA IDE Combined Mode" which should allow ports 5 and 6 to function in AHCI mode.
I installed the OS, but the drive is being detected as "OCZ-AGILITY2 SCSI Disk Device" when I run some benchmarks I am getting very poor results.
On the advice of the OCZ technical support I have updated the firmware to 2.15 and did a secure erase, then reinstalled the OS - but this didnt seem to make any difference.
IN my AMD "Raidexpert" I can see the drive listed on the physical controller - it has NCQ,TRIM support both enabled.
I seem to be stuck in SATA 2 speeds, with various benchmarks givng me transfer rate maximum of 324.7MB/Sec and agerage of 271MB/Sec.
I've had people tell me I should be using the "Out of Box" Microsoft AHCI driver, but If I do this I can't see the other drives on my raid array.
Can anyone offer any advice? I know I could probably achieve better reuslts If I took away my raid configuration and just used pure AHCI, but this wouldnt provide me with the redundant storage my job role requires. There must be other people out there with both RAID and a SSD on the same controller.
