Hmmm... just got a reply from OCUK Returns about my RMA:

We are currently waiting for a replacement for the suppliers. I apologise for the delay and thank you for your patience in this matter.

How come the original poster's X850XT is considered obsolete and he's offered a replacement but my X800XT-PE isn't, and I ain't?

I have to admit, having waited 6 months for ASUS to get their act together and provide an RMA without success and now 6 weeks for OcUK and their suppliers to make up the slack, my patience is getting slightly stretched :(

I'm waiting on my ATI 850XT PE 256 and got this replay from OCuk 'It has been deemed faulty and are currently waiting for a replacement from the suppliers'?? Not sure what that means but we'll see I suppose, I have my nice new X199XT 512mb to keep me going anyways..!!

Update on my current situation:

After waiting for what seems like a century, I've just rung up OcUK a third time to see what's happening about my replacement card.

Now, I was expecting an X1800XT as you all know. But I've just been told that I'm being sent an X1600 instead. I'm a bit confused, as an OcUK official who posted in this thread was the first one to state that I'm entitled to an X1800XT.

The support guy told me that the X1600 was waiting to be picked up from the warehouse now, so I can't do anything about it.

A bit disappointed, I might just buy an X1800XT instead. If I'd known this was going to happen, I would have done that ages ago, as I've got the new mobo. etc. sitting here collecting dust in wait for the card.

I spent £480 upgrading to PCI-E thinking that I was going to receive an X1800XT. I'm not really in the best of moods, as I could've bought an AGP card for around the same price as an X1600.

Ummm, X1600 is slower than X850 XT and worth less, if you were getting a PCI-E swap should be at least 7600 GT/X1800 GTO performance wise imo.

I think that's very poor and you should certainly kick up a stink. You've been without your card for how long?? And now you're being fobbed off with an inferior card?? Did you even get an apology?

Oh dear. X1600 completely sucks compared to an X850 XT :(

Have a look at this from Toms Hardware-

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/graphics/charts.html?modelx=33&model1=565&model2=556&chart=204

Third drop down list is to change the game. Have a look at the performance across all the games there. X1600 XT is way slower than X850 XT in just about everything. 12 pipe, 128 bit memory interface, versus 16 pipe, 256 bit memory interface. Even though the X1600 XT is clocked a little higher it's still way slower.

I'm assuming they're sending you the X1600 XT btw, the X1600 Pro is even worse.

Is it PCI-E btw? At least ask for a 7600 GT instead. They're selling that for £88 this week so that's roughly what an X850 XT would be worth, but it's miles quicker than the X1600 XT.

Hmmm this news concerns me somewhat as I have sent a card back 3 weeks ago this Friday and OCuk have stated it has been "deemed faulty" and they are waiting for the supplier to send a replacement card??

My original card was a 3DConnect AGP 850XT PE 256mb?!?!?!?!?!

I have gone a brought a new mother board and vidoe card (in sig) as I knew they would take forever and I'm an impatient g*t...

I better get a card back very near or better than that spec or I WILL be kicking up a major fuss!!

We'll see

are sure you didnt mishear the guy on the phone: X1600/X1800 sound kinda the same. But if it is an X1600 of any sort, personally i would not accept that card as a replacement.
If you have a PCIE mobo now at a minimum i would expect back a 7600GT or X1800GTO, or partial refund & buy whatever card you like.

After a 2 month wait on the outcome of my RMA'd ATi 850XT PE 256 AGP I was told I would get a XFX Gforce 7600 XXX 256 PCi last week but it didn't turn up and vanished from the OcUK website
