I have a Honda Accord (98plate)...

About 2 months ago it was leaking petrol. So i took it to a garage,

they renewed the fuel lines and it was fine... until a week or so ago when it started leaking fuel closer to the rear of the car.

So i waited til payday as thats the only time i could afford to get it looked at.

However on payday (thursday) i left lights on overnight and battery drained flat, i managed to get it home on saturday, bought a battery charger and charged battery yesterday...

Now today i started it, (after a lot of work) and it ran (leaking fuel like hell mind), so i took it to the garage and when i pulled up, when sitting idle there is white cloudy fumes coming from the exhaust.

The guy said it might be the head gasket (which ive heard is costly)

Due to the fuel leak do you think he could be trying it on? its never done the cloudy fume thing in the past

Check for Mayo in the engine.. (Oil Cap and in the Coolant tank..) if there is some present it might be that..

Was it actually coming out of the exhaust? Or was it coming from underneath the car?

Out the exhaust when i pulled up at garage, i left engine running while i spoke to the guy. hes having a look at it today. Im just waiting for a phonecall :(

If you take your car through a full heat cycle each day, you shouldn't get any vapor out of the exhaust once the engine is fully warm.

I feel sorry for these cars you see driving down the road pouring water out the exhaust.

You are going to visible emissions from the exhuast at this time of the year becuase it's cold outside.

I know the difference between visible condesation type stuff mate, this was thick, white, and it stunk

I often see cars, often brand new cars, with water coming out the exhuast. I've also had visible emissions out the back of a brand new 320i after a 30 mile drive...
