i just ordered a new shuttle, and i looked to download the latest drivers i saw the AHCI driver has just been updated, what is this and how is it installed ? i thought win7 had all that? do i need it?
wouldnt imagine you would need it unless you are planning on setting up raid or something, might be wrong but i think the generic drivers in windows will be fine.
there is an option in shuttle bios [ it was either my SG31 or my SH48] which IIRC defaults to something other than AHCI, so make sure yours is enabled before installing the OS
I stumbled across the info while reading up on best way to prepare & install an SSD drive but will be relevant for your needs too I would imagine
