AHCI for SSD?

I'm building a new PC today and have bought an OCZ Agility 3 to do a clean install of Windows 7.

Just a quick question - I read some advice suggesting that you should use AHCI in the BIOS, but then other advice saying that the benefits this brings (NCQ I think?) is of no use to an SSD, so you should use IDE.

Can anyone clear this up before I take the plunge and start installing Windows?

Thanks

Just to save creating a new thread.

I have an ASUS Striker Extreme the first one.

Now I read if I was to get an SSD I should set the thing in the BIOS to AHCI mode.

I have looked every where and I have come to the conclusion this mother board even with the latest BIOS has no such option.

Can some one help me on this?.

Thanks

I dont think it supports ahci mode.

AHCI is good but not essential. Im running an OCZ Vertex 2E on IDE mode and it's still very fast so don't worry about it. You need AHCI to update firmware or secure erase however. I used my mates PC to do this.
