AHCI on M4 SSD

Hi guys

I installed windows 7 on my 64gb M4 SSD about a year ago in IDE mode instead of ahci.

I have just done the regedit fix and tried to swap it to AHCI mode in the bios. before regedit it used to blue screen at the windows loading page now it just holds on the windows loading page. doesn't freeze or crash as logo keeps moving but won't go any further.

Mobo is a ASrock 990fx extreme 3
SSD - crucial m4 64GB

Same thing happened to a friend. Windows repair (boot from Windows disc > Startup repair) solved the problem.

had a go last night still no joy.

ran windows repaid and it still stops at the windows loading screen

May have to be a re-install of Windows mate, my SSD wasn't running in AHCI mode when I received my system from OC, I changed the BIOS and re-installed (took about 15 mins) as I couldn't be arsed to do the reg fixes and I wanted to see how quick a rebuild would take.

Granted I had nothing on the PC (apart from the correct drivers) but it really didn't take any time at all.
