AHCI? re-install needed?

Hi, anyone know If I need to reinstall windows 7 after enabling AHCI and also if I need drivers on install.

If I change to AHCI without a re-install of Windows 7 will it work? I know unlikely but kind of hoping Windows 7 has these drivers already and a re-install is not needed.

best way is to try mate

It used to work on XP ages ago, and yup windows should have all the drivers needed (or at worst the windows install disk).

Backup all your important stuff first then go for it mate

no you dont have to reinstal, just change these registry settings before changing to AHCI

It works with vista anyway
