Ahoy all Geeky Spectrum Lovers...

pheebs, just reading through your blog. Excellent and most enjoyable yomp. :)

Massively out of date, head to our facebook for more :) Website borked in Libya and then webdesigner failed on getting us a new one! Will be an updated one in the new year though! :D

I LOVED FURY OF FURRIES :D :D

Ah man, awesome gaming memories :)

Bah, I started with a vic20.... Then looked with green eyes at all me mates getting spectrums a couple of years later. 3.5k ram lol

I can clearly remember faking illness during school days so I could a) avoid having to go swimming and b) play this:

God how I loved that game.

48k Rubber Speccy here :)

She was an awesome computer. Star strike 3d and Schooldaze, ah the memories.

Not to mention squinting and swearing at LensLok whenever you wanted to play Elite! Assuming you hadn't dared to breath anywhere near the tape leads during loading.

Lol at the lenslok comment, forgot about that. Also there was a coloured piece of card came with Jet Set Willy maybe? that you had to put in the right colour on the grid to start the game.

Still have my 48k Spectrum and an Amiga 500 up in the roof space somewhere. Loved the Wally series on the Spectrum, definitely good memories until they brought out them turbo loaders or whatever they were that gave me some grief trying to load them.

No idea what the games are the OP is looking for, the second one where he said you're in a wheel made me think of The Pyramid where your in a 2d bubble which could look a bit like a wheel maybe.

Got a almost brand new boxed 48k one in loft - I could just about get my head around skiing down hill. Managed to program it to add 2+2 and my computer period was over.

I used to have a couple of drawers full of games. Mum gave them away along with the ZX81 and the ZX Spectrum to a charity shop without my knowledge. :(

"Oh they're in the loft somewhere" she'd say. She knew they weren't in the loft.

Broke lots of quickshot joysticks playing daley thompson decathlon.

I remember snapping my mates Cheetah 125 during a frantic DT Decathlon session :o :D

My cousin had a Spectrum before me and I loved School Daze. Eventually had +2 and got a Datel +D with a 3.5" floppy disk. Made loading games so much quicker

I spent 6 weeks picking runner beans at £1 per hour to save up to buy a 48K rubber Spectrum when they were new. £180! But I'd seen one running in Woolworths and was awed. Colour! Hi-res graphics! Sound!

I still have my Lenslok for Elite.
