AI Overclocking

Hi, I'm new to overclocking, so I aplogize if this sounds like a dumb question. But when AI Overclocking is set to Auto is the overclocking dynamic?. In other words, does it only overclock the CPU when there's heavy demand?

I'm asking because I've recently tried it with a setting of 10% and my CPU was still rated as 2.40GHz in Windows. Where previously it was set to manual and it was rated at 3.3GHz.

Oh! and the victims are a Q6600 and Asus P5N-T motherboard.

Ignore windows and use CPU-Z. If you load up the processor with something like prime95/orthos / 3dmark you will see the reported speed in xpu-z change. If not, the answer is no.
