I can't do it I end up looking at the ceiling.

How long did it take you guys when you bought the box to get good at aiming with a controller.

I daren't go on to live on COD4 at the moment I'd get müllered :p

I'm actually better with a pad in FPS games now than a KB & mouse, due to not having played PC games for so long :p

Practice, practice, practice!

If you use the pad enough you can become very accurate and quick. pew pew!

Remember you don't have to hold the thumb sticks all the way to the edge, there is a middle point.

The same goes with triggers on racing games.

From there you practice.

Maybe try playing geometry wars. All that uses is the sticks.
It was probably how i got used to the 360 so when i started on fps's i was away in a couple of mins

Once you get the general jist of it you will be fine. With COD4 I found the players on 360 of a lot lower quality to those on the pc. Makes you feel a lot better yourself though. :p

I can't even do head shots in dead rising at the zombies....
The games fault tbh. The controls really do take some time to get used to. Even a week after release I was accidentally taking photo's of zombies instead of shooting them :o

It took me about a week to adapt to the controller with CoD2 then I was fine.

I've never really got used to it. Especially with multiple enemies. I tend to over correct and it takes me longer to line up a shot than most. Sometimes when I see peoples skill with long range weapons, like Gord and Alrik from Ocuk I have to tell myself they must be cheating ;)

So thats why we always nick your kills when you're lining up the head shots. :D

It does take some getting used to - I find it almost more natural in a sense, but it's a lot stiffer and slower for me. I prefer mouse/kb for precision and speed, however. I guess it also depends on the game and what it has you aiming at :P

If you want to practice with the controller, open COD4 and there's a special FPS training section in there called "Mile High - Veteran". Should teach you everything you need to know.
