AIO for Linux?

I'm keen on switching away from air cooling with my next CPU upgrade, but fan and pump control in Linux is a non-stop headache - reading my motherboard's fan and temperature sensors is hit & miss. I've tried all the tricks.

For air cooling I can get away with using my motherboard's own BIOS fan speed control based on CPU temperature, but I'd like to use the AIO's liquid temperature to control the fans on the AIO. There are a number of AIOs that can do this, but all understandably require their software to do so, and I don't think any of them support Linux? Anyone got this working?

Go check out Cooler Control.

I control all my fans and Aquacomputer D5 Pump with it. I also have a function/virtual sensor to control fan speed using water/ambient temperature Delta-T. Could do the same for Pump control as long as control is exposed along with the water temp sensor, irregardless of official software.

It recently had a major update and the hardware support documentation may assist you in choosing hardware.

Oooh that looks good! Thanks!
I'll have to do some digging to see if it'll help with access to an AIO's liquid temp. It's an annoyingly difficult sensor to get a hold of it seems.

irregardless
