AIO- purge new fluid

Is it true you can't open up, purge the old fluid and replace (say after five years)

What happens when CPU socket changes, do you have to scrap the whole lot- and buy whole new AOI rather than getting new adaptor kit? Are the pumps replaceable in AIO or once the pump fails it's part of the head and not replaceable?
 
be quiet! AIO come with a refill bottle and port to use after 2 years, most Asetek AIO don't have method to be refilled.

Most of the manufactures if they don't supply the correct bracket at time of sale will either ship or sell you a upgrade kit depending on when you originally bought the AIO.
 
Just depends on the AIO
Still got a few swiftech laying around
Those you could change coolant
Expand them to include gpu or extra rad etc
Probably the majority though aren't meant to be
But you can anyway
Either by opening the cold plate
Or by detaching a hose
