well i bought it on release and it was my second MMO 'wow-beater' that i got stung on so any freebies i can get are welcome
funny reading over on the aion section of steam forums, its now not classed as a grind apparently but takes 2 weeks to do a level or two!![]()
and the quests require X amount of mobs to be killed or things to be collected.
whatever way you look at it, its all a grind. and 2 weeks for a level or 2, thats just bonkers.
When Aion®: Assault on Balaurea™ released, rifting changed in Aion®. The rifting changes focused on placing a strong protective buff on homeland defenders in lands accessed by rifts. Some time after the launch of Assault on Baluarea, our Aion Community and Production Teams gathered your feedback, both in the forums and through a gamewide survey, to gauge your thoughts and preferences on rifting. The results of that feedback culminated in a proposal we took to the development team in Korea.
In the feedback gathered, you indicated that you felt that lower-level players needed to have some to protection. However, the majority of you also told us clearly that you felt that the strength of the defensive bonus after Assault on Balaurea launched was excessive.
On Friday, December 10 we will begin a month-long trial of changes to the current rifting settings that take into account your feedback. After the month is over, we will send out another in-game survey to gauge your thoughts on the changes to determine if we need to do any final tweaking of these settings.
During this one-month trial:
· The protection for defenders in Morheim and Eltnen will remain, but the strength of the protection will be significantly reduced. The intent of this change is to provide protection to lower-level players, but also allow for challenging rifting battles in Morheim and Eltnen.
· The protection for defenders in Heiron and Beluslan will be removed entirely. This change allows higher-level players to engage in full-scale rifting and to complete spy quests, such as the Betoni’s quest line.
Thank you for your patience and your valuable ongoing feedback during this process.

anyways, some rather good news regarding PvP -Rifting !!!! :-

yeah lag is Sanctum is bad , god knows how laggy the pvp is only got to lvl 26 and cancelledDoes this game still suffer from huge lag?,i played around 1-2 months ago and the lag is Sanctum made the game unplayable even with silly high frames.
I thought i would give the servers a chance so i tried to persist for a few weeks but nothing ever improved.
Shame as i liked the game
I wonder if these changes are also being made in South Korea(where the game is made) or just here, either way it's good they're listening to player feedback outside of asia.
I'v been playing abit during the re-activation period and have noticed lots of really nice changes, I actually didn't even notice the protection buff, is it automatic or do you have to obtain it somehow?
I'v only played maybe 6 weeks in total (38 templar) but when there's is stuff to do I find it's one of the more enjoyable mmo's around. Of all the MMO's that I'v played, it's in my top 3 for sure.
I don't think it's actual lag you're getting in Sanctum, it's just your graphics card not being able to manage all the people. I got it constantly in Sanctum, it's why I didn't even bother to level to serious PvP range, the game engine just can't seem to handle large numbers of people without a serious amount of power (I'm using a 5770, 4gb of ram, and a 3.6GhZ 8400 for reference).
