Has anyone ever seen this whilst filling their loop:

It looks like froth caused by a lot of tiny air bubbles, been shaking case etc. for last 30 minutes....

Thats the problem with bay resiviours they make it diffcult to get rid of air bubbles. I would suggest keep rocking your case side to side and front to back switching the pump on and off repeatedly. Also keep filling up your resiviour with coolant to take up the space the air has left behind. Its a pain in the butt but eventually it will shift (it also helps to loosen he filling port once in a while to release the trapped air you will hear a hizzing sound which indicates the leave leaving).

I got most of the 'froth' to go last night.

Left it off overnight and it appears to have cleared, I'll find out later when I switch it all back on again.

I have found that a dash of fairly liquid is very good for clearing the bubbles. It increases the surface tension and draws the small bubbles through the loop. It also makes it harder for new bubbles to form and reduces the air that is absorbed by the water which can be a real pain causing them to settle at the highest point.

What's a dash? A blob the size of thermal paste application or bigger?

Sorry I should have been more specific. My loop is 800ml and I use about 3 drips of fairy liquid. Although I am sure it would not make too much difference, slightly more or less. It works really well though. It draws the smaller bubbles together to make bigger ones that can be flushed around the system easily ending up in the res as intended.

Hi, what l do is try to prefill the loop as much as l can before l start the pump. As my rad is a 560[4x140mm fans] and has a bleed screw, its very easy to bleed the loop.

I think my mistake was that I had already drained the loop (to sort my nb to cpu kink) and when I filled it again this time the pump was on max at the beginning (should have checked ) which is what caused all the bubbles. The loop is 600 (5x120) and uses about 1l of fluid.

I wont have a chance to look at it again until Saturday/Sunday now so hopefully it should have settled by then. If not I'll give the fairy liquid trick a go :)

Thanks for your help :)

Well I left it to settle for 2 days and the 'froth' had disappeared from the res. Fired it up again this morning and the 'froth' is back :/

Added a couple of drops of fairy but it doesn't appeared to have improved.

Do I need to think about draining the loop and flushing it or will it just dissipate over time?
