Hi all,

First post but i've been reading the forums with earnest for a few months now!
I just wanted to ask if these overclocks were ok and what I could expect to improve on if anything?

X2 4400 at 2600Mhz 1.4V Stable as a rock (Idle 44, Load 58)
FSB at 260Mhz on Asus A8N-32SLI
Corsair XMS 3500LL at 236MHz 2.5-3-3-6 1T
BFG 7900 GT 525/1400MHz (Idle 50, Load about 70)

Any ideas? I've recently bought a Zalman 900 for the GFX so will fit that soon.

Also, these are all fitted inside an Alienware case which has a load of fans going. Will this be able to take water cooling? If so, whats a good kit to get for a system like that and what further clocking benefits could I expect?

Thanks all

Gommsta

You shouldn't really let it go above 60 degrees to be safe, but with better cooling and more volts you could probably get more out of that chip.

If you want the best aircooling the Sythe ninja is the one to get.
Don't know anything about water cooling i'm afraid.

Welcome to the forums by the way. Hope your folding for us...

How do I find that out? can't see anything under CPU-Z. Would i need to inspect the module visually or should I just try and run it 1:1. I notice u have same RAM, what sort of timings u getting?

Thanks

prime stable at 260 2.5,3,2,0 1T
memtest stable at 255 2.5,3,2,0 1T

remember that this type of ran doesnt like high voltages to lower the better

here is a link to where i found out about this
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=88354

also im on 2.6v for the ram cause i cant go any lower

what multi are u using to get that clock as well, also due to your high temps, put for cpu back to stock volts and clcoks and run dual prime and tell me what the temps are shouldnt be any higher than 45c

I just set my clock back to 2200 (200 x 11) and CPU at stock volts and it still idles at about 42C? Load is now down to 51C in Prime (dual) and 53C in SnM. Not quite sure whats going on there? Is the Thermaltake blue orb crap?
My case has 2 fans sucking air in and 3 exhausting (2 rear, 1 side) so i don't think airflow is a problem?

My overclock was 260 x 10 for the CPU with the ram on a 183 divider giving 236Mhz. I'd love to run it at 260 with the timings you've managed. Will play around with it. I had my ram at 2.75V so i'll try lowering it to 2.6V.

On another note, fitted that Zalman and my GPU idle is now 38, Load at 51 so i'm really happy on that. Will try and experiment with that soon.

Sorry if this is a rambly post! Welcome to my mind! lol

Cheers

Hey,

Just to let you know I ended up getting a TT Big Typhoon (christ its big).

My idle temp hasn't dropped much - its down to 42C, but my Load temp has dropped a massive 10C to 49C. Fantastic.

As for the RAM. Its Rev 1.3. I'm running it at 1:1 Now. 260Mhz at 3-3-2-6 1T.

Needs 2.75V for that. The lower voltage thing isn't working for me.

Cheers
