Air cooler for 245k

It will be fine. I have the Peerless Assassin and the front fan is raised a little to clear my memory sticks and I have had no problems. It's a cracking cooler.

I've been through a similar decision making process. You can either spend hours researching the options, watching youtube videos, reading through reviews and comparisons galore... or you can just buy the most suitable Noctua cooler for your build and call it a day

My Thermalright Peerless Assassin is using the fans that came with it plus a extra identical one I fitted at the rear of the cooler and it is silent, it never ramps up and I am using the silent profile in the bios. My 7800x3d never goes above 70 degrees C even when into a heavy gaming session, most of the time it's in the 60's. Noctua is not the ultimate in air coolers apart from the ridiculous price they charge.

Thanks for the help, I will take it on board much appreciated!!

Hello I will be building music production system based on a 245k CPU. I am looking for recommendations for an air cooler?

I have been recommended something like this:

The case wont have any viewing windows so no fancy lights or features, in this price range would be nice.

No plans to overclock at the moment.

Goes without saying for a music station build as quiet as possible.
Basic rule of thumb is "bigger is quieter"; more heat pipes is more heat transfer bigger fin pack/s need less airflow speed so lower fan speeds.

Biggest Thermalright Overclockers is PA140.

Only bigger on is La Grande Macho RT. It ha 7x 6mm heat pipes and is 150x120x159mm with 150x120x112mm fin pack. Mount listing does not show LGA1200, but it's same as older LGA1155, etc. 75x75mm hole spacing. LGM RT is newer version of original HR-22. LGM RT has 1 less heatpipe with same basic fin pack set back 4.5mm. HR-22 fin pack was only set back 1mm.

Thanks for that I will keep it in mind, more than likely using what I have unless I am not satisfied with the look or noise.

I have also thought about the extra fan, at the rear or don't put a fan at the front and put it at the rear to avoid the RAM issue altogether. The cooler will be almost right next to my rear exhaust so should a nice airflow through the cooler.
