Am planning on getting the COOLER MASTER RR-212E-16PK-R1 Hyper 212 EVO cooler for my 8120 i have an Asus M5A78l-M USB 3 mobo would this cooler fit this motherboard i.e not go over any ram slots?. or are there any other decent air coolers out that would

Thermalright True Spirit 120. Probably what I'd get in the price range, although it's not available yet.

But most coolers will interfere with your ram slots, especially m-atx boards. If it's a problem, you'll have to go water cooled (H60 and the likes).

looking at this cooler & the board I would think only the fan would overhang the ram slots & you probably have a problem with RAM that has large heatsink fins.

so if i had to move my ram i have only use 2 / 4 slots. could i move the ram to the black slots instead would that make it slower tho?

also is the h60 good enough to cool the fx8120 overclocked to 4ghz

The H60 is better than a 212 Evo.

You can move to the black slot, maybe. It's not gonna make it slower, but it might not work. Depends on motherboards usually. Some don't like using the secondary channel as primary, some have no problems.

I am using a H60 with an 1100T OC to 4.1Ghz. I have idle temps of 38 degrees or less and max under load of 59 degrees.
