Panting like a fiend
My sister has suggested that her 7 year old daughter (and her partners 9yp son) would potentially like their own safety glasses* for "pellet gun" shooting (further clarification is that the pellets are "lead").

So with 4 days until Christmas** does anyone have any recommendations for suitable safety eyewear for young children playing with shooty things?

If it was normal DIY protective gear I'd have no issue and simply go for something like dewalt, but I've literally zero idea of where to start looking for pellet gun rated stuff, especially in kids sizes.

Given the current hobbies/activities my niece seems to be involved in I'm starting to wonder if sister is training her to be some sort of assassin.

*I assume, and fervently hope they're using loan ones at the moment ;)

**Fortunately I've already got her main present:p

Maybe find some kid sized motorbike helmets...? No idea if the visors are good for that type of impact though

Not sure about that, but UK law states that you have to be 14 years or above to be able to use one.
I may have got the type of gun wrong, indeed it's quite likely as I'm going by information from my sister, who as much as I love her is absolutely terrible at passing along any messages* or paying attention to things especially anything remotely technical :p It wouldn't surprise me if next time I see her partner it turns out it's a potato gun the kids are playing with.

*I told her the other day that we were being more careful about how many people we had in the house due to omicon and only just having had our boosters, and got a worried call from my oldest nephew's GF asking if we were ok as she'd just been told I was in isolation (there is a ~20 year age gap between my sister's first born and my niece).

personally at that age i would go with a paintball mask. something from JT if your on a budget or DYE if you want to splash out on fancy ones

If they are using lead pellets, I would guess that they are using Air rifles.

If they are air rifles, there really shouldn't be a need for safety glasses.

Should there be a risk of them shooting each other or themselves, they definitely should not be using air rifles in the first place.

I would bet that if you gave kids safety glasses they would be more inclined to shoot each other.

If its airsoft on the other hand, and they do wish to shoot each other, I would recommend a decent full face mask, as would be used for paintballing.

If its just the glasses they want, then you can't go far wrong with ballistic glasses, although they don't come cheap.

If the pellets are 'lead', as in actual air rifles, then I don't think masks/goggles are appropriate, as none are likely to be certified to protect against that kind of projectile and kids shouldn't be wielding them in a way that might injure other people.

Assuming it's actually plastic airsoft BBs we're talking about, then agree with a previous poster, just get a cheap full face paintball mask. Something like this would be fine - although you can easily spend £100-150 on more bling and comfort.
