The loading one on ajaxload.info can be made pretty darn huge can't it?
The circle thickbox option is pretty darn big.
There's http://preloaders.net/en/circular which I've used before, they have a scaler on there that isn't too bad - but some of the shots look a little poor at larger resolutions.

Nice link! Only thing is that they are a bit pixelated - tried the 220x220 option. Wanted it a bit bigger than that as it a placeholder for a the main div on a page.
