Akasa Eclipse 62

I use ambers and can't complain! I've had them for about 6 months now and they haven't got much louder since their installation! :)

I haven't had experience of the AcoustiFan DustProof but i have heard good things said about them! They are nearly twice the price of the ambers though so i suppose they'd have to be real good to justify the price though!

You're not wrong!
And if chewbacca is a wookie, this doesn't make sense, and ambers must be better than lateyoons!

I am using 3 x 120mm scythe 1200rpm jobs to cool my rig. Have to say the Intel Bad Axe does an unbelievable job of making them silent and then spins them up when things get warm. Toms h/w even commented on how good the Intel mobo was at this.

Have tried ambers, nexus, yateloons (12volted nexi really), acousti dustproofs, silentx, papst, antec tricool, sharkoon silent eagles and have to say the scythe have the best noise profile to my ears and give very decent ariflow. I found the Nexus very good (think they are 10v after all), but not enough airflow. Same for SilentX. The Yateloons same as Nexus but noisier at 12v. I hated the Dustproofs. Too noisy at 12v too, like the Ambers (although great airflow) and a buzzing when undervolted. The Sharkoons were quite good but not enough airflow either. Scythe has my vote.

I think the problem with a lot of these fans is they are too noisy at 12v and give good airflow, or not enough airflow at 7v, or enough airflow but either have annoying motor noise or sometimes a buzzing or clicking. It's hard finding the right balance. And it depends on your ears too I reckon.
