Today decided to clean out my rig and cover the sides with Akasa paxmate.

The Pax mate box came with 4 mats, one for the top and bottom of the case and two were for the sides. As I have a window on the case I decided to mod one side to stick to the side of the case. Its a little rough round the edges but looks OK.

Sorry for the dire photos, Can't seem to get any decent shots with this Canon camera.

- Cleaned out rig
- Took my old DVD-ROM out, never used it. Used the front panel of the DVD-ROM on the DVD-RW now. (Better colour match)
- Repositioned my hard drives
- Braided Seasonic PSU cables with black sleeving

Do it. Awesome case. :)
Think I might get around to taking some good photos of mine sometime :o lol

i havent cleaned mine in like a year. I also have an Eclipse. think i'll do it over the weekend.
Thanks for *** reminder :)

Sorry to say this.. but I really recon you shouldn't have installed that paxmate stuff. It hardly reduces sound level(even less so with a window.) I increases temps slightly, it doesn't look very good IMO and its nasty stuff to remove. All just my opinion though. :)

What he said - you'll regret it when you come to remove it, or try to sell the case

I originally thought this but the material removes without a problem.

It took some time to get the top to line up properly which meant having to remove and apply the material on and off.

Tbh the paxmate does not really make a big difference, although it does quiet down high pitch sounds from the case which I have noticed. But also looks good ;)

Its a pleasure to work with. The case is so well made and so easy to access in all areas.

Neatly done, but I've heard the AcoustiPack Deluxe is the only one that will significantly lower the full range of noise from a PC. I may try it some day with this PC-7+, but am trying new case fans first :)

Replacing the original 80mm ADDA fans with Akasa Ambers was one of the best things I've done to my Lian-Li cases. Mind you, dumping the Qtec PSU in one of them for a Seasonic didn't hurt either.

when it's fresh yes, but once it's been on - take it from me i've had to remove it from a case and even now there is still a residue of the glue that i just can't seem to shift!

Its good every bit of noise improvement I suppose helps.

Personaly ive just wacked my Eclipse62 on top of a fluffy pillow. Thats cut like 20-30% noise straight away.... proberly made the biggest difference to noise.

I cant hear anymore vibrations/weird whines and the overall noise levels gone down.

Course could ditch the 4 hdds and get 2x500giggers, or reduce the fans so there tad slower even.... but its good for now/good air flows sometimes important as ive found out ;)

Notice the nice tidy student carpet. The window is looking a bit grubby, but not too bad.

Spongy wheels now thats an idea ;)

I removed my wheels before it slept into my fluffy pillow:)

Another Ocuk member used his wooly cardigan and had the same effect as me. Some people have gone one step up and use the paxmate or thick spongy stuff from the DIY store and just patched it up inside and outside around the case... bit excessive but its worked.
