Akasa Star Ice.. any good?

I've been offered one of these coolers for free..
I was needing to buy a decent cooler for my opty.. but I've been offered this.. should I take it?

I used this cooler, didnt like it one bit. Fiddly to fit, average temps plus its noisy as hell.

I take it you mean the Asus?

If so, it's nothing special there's better coolers on the market, and it doesn't really cool that much better than the stock coolers, and as stated before it's actually really noisy.

Yeah the Asus star ice was alright when it released but new CPUs are too much for it. May as well take it and sell it unless they were going to sell it, just let em.

i dont know where you get your info from but i have this cooler and it keeps my opteron at 30c idle and 37c full load

No dude! they really are rubbish, louder than stock cooler similar temps.

If its free, take then sell on...
