I was recommended this book by a close friend of mine. I bought it and read it straight away and as I'd been told by many people, I didn't find it easy. I read it another two times a few weeks ago and still don't "see" what he's trying to put across.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone on here has managed it with the book? And more for my personal research, has someone read the book and failed, and as a consequence gone to a clinic? What was it like, and are you a non-smoker now?

I completely understand what you're saying, and I understand what he says too, but I just can't do it. I don't know why, but it feels as if I'm doing it on the will-power method, which I have tried on numerous occasions and failed. Difficult to explain.

Congratulations on quitting to the both of you anyway.

Yeah, smoking gets me down. Like the book says really. I'm 24 now and I've been smoking since I was 15, long time if I think about it

I still get cravings, not often though, like once every few months.

Sometimes when I smell cigarette smoke it makes me want to be sick and other times it smells lush.

Same here, I've even had the odd puff when drunk and it's tasted bloody awful!
I've never tried one since, I've been tempted, but never actually tried. I think I am too scared of being dragged back into the system.

It's the same with Cigars, I'd love one now and again but they'd just lead back down the same path.

I will have to see if I can grab a copy from somewhere but I just can't see how this is such a life changing book from how people have described it. Everyone knows the health issues with cigarettes so if you still smoke then you have accepted those.

The benefits are quite obvious as well I would have thought.

  • You don't smell
  • Clothes don't smell
  • House doesn't smell
  • Much more money
  • No cravings for cigarettes
  • Health benefits
  • Life doesn't revolve around smoking
  • Better mood

So what exactly does he say that makes you say "I'm done".

Just get a copy, it's easier than tying to explain how the author goes about it.
