Damnit, I might have to get a 360 for this (and the few other exclusives I want to play... Halo & Gears of War basically).

It's pretty annoying that they've shelved the PC version :(

Doubt it but you never know. (Maybe another GOW/ME1?)

As for the game, looks great (apart from the screen tearing) and I'm sure with a developer like Remedy behind it the story and atmosphere will be top notch.
My only gripe is the gameplay (guns/light combo) it really is imo a step in the wrong direction for this type of game. Surely developers can get more creative than including a gun in every game....

I've been waiting for this game since it was announced years ago, I thought it was going to become another "Duke Nukem" and never actually materialise into a finished game, however it seems it has and by the looks of it, the wait may have been worth while but only time will tell, the developers have sure had enough time to make it into a masterpiece after all this time.

I know what you mean. I loved the cinematic-ness(?) of the video in the OP, it was a bit dissapointing once some combat appeared, I really hope it doesn't turn into the RE4/5 style of gameplay where you're solving a puzzle, running to an area, killing a few smoke baddies (Locke anyone? :D ) and rinse and repeat, it would be refreshing if it had more of an exploration/dialogue/puzzle based gameplay like a combination of Alone in the Dark(earlier games)/Resident Evil/Mass Effect.

the developers have sure had enough time to make it into a masterpiece after all this time.

If you read Edz link it says their development team is only 50 strong, isn't that small for a game these days? I suppose it makes sense that they decided to just focus on one platform.

An action game......

Yeah there's a definate shortage of them atm, especially with guns :(

I really thought this was going to be more about the story telling and the whole mystery (i.e. more about solving puzzle) rather than a game about how many bullets you will need to pass the next section...

One thing i wonder is why do Heavy Rain and Alan Wake get compared to by some media outlets? The only thing i can think of is that both look good, AW is super natural stuff about an author and HR rain is a murder mystery.
