http://brightfalls.net/ launches today (not there yet). It's the official Alan Wake site and as it's been a year since they released anything I'm quite excited to see what state it's in.

The faq http://brightfalls.net/alan-wake-faq/#s1q07 is out though so you can take a gander.

Is the 360 version going to be the same graphically?

The 360 only has 3 cores but according to mixuk from Remedy it shouldn't matter.

"Having several cores helps, but is not required, since you can run several processes on one thread. In the current plans the PC and 360 versions will be pretty identical.

Also, we stream necessary data to memory when needed, the whole world will not be loaded into memory constantly. It's the same idea that was already in GTA3 for PS2, remember, it only had 32mb."

Alan Wake is expected to run at at least 30 frames per second on the Xbox 360.

How large is the game world?

36 square miles (10 x 10 kilometres).

How far is the draw distance in the game world?

Currently around 2 kilometres (1.2 - 1.3 miles).

More there. Can't wait.

Reading the FAQ it does get me hyped for this game, but this bit has me worried:

"We've spent a lot of time in pre-production, fleshing out the concept, writing the core technology and building the tools that we'll need to be able to create the game. Right now we're making rapid progress, but there's certainly still a lot of work ahead of us." - Petri Järvilehto

That to me says 2009 at the earliest :(

They can take as long as they want with this as long as it is as good as I am hoping. Far too many PC and 360 games to keep me busy before the next wave gets here right now.

Really looking forward to it the storyline seems really good and if its anything like Max Payne it wont go far wrong :D

What's all the fuss about anyways? :O So far all I've seen is just tech demos - a la Crysis

Well for m,e its the fact that its from the max payne devs and is an unofficial sequel. I love that series, so im pretty excited to see what they come up with next. I think its going to be an epic story plus the engine looks more fancy than a factory of fondent fancies.

Eh? Unofficial sequel? It's nothing of the sort. It's a new IP - unrelated to Max Payne. They still own the rights to Max so if they wanted to do a sequel they'd do an official one ;) Fingers crossed they do too!!

Am looking forward to this though, have been since they first announced it. Don't know much about it other than it's going to be a very moody horror type game, with day and night cycles.

I've had my eye on this game since I first saw it in the dx10 screenshots but after reading more I am getting pretty excited on what this game will have to offer.
