Just did a quick google of "Alan Wake PC" and it seems a few sites are listed this as a preorder with a release date of 26th March. The box art seems to vary from site to site so I'm not too sure. This is the one game I want that I wasn't going to be able to play on my PS3 (obviously) or my PC.

Is it back on now?

Pretty much keep up with all things PC Gaming and I've not come across any news of this coming back the PC anytime soon.

Last I heard 360 was getting the exclusive then decisions will be made regarding the PC.

ive got a feeling max payne 3 is going to be a disaster too ;/ good ole consoles

It will come on PC eventually but the game will disappoint anyway.

Its already been released as Resident Evil4, Fuel, Silent Hill5, Fallout3 and many others have borrowed most of the neat ideas Remedy showed in 2006. Remedy had their chance but missed the window so now they are downsizing the game for consoles. If Remedy could create a gameworld as big as Fuel and also include lots of survival horror gameplay then it would be impressive but they are very unlikely to be able to achieve that when its been cutdown to fit console memory limitations :(

Intel even sponsored this game to showcase quadcore CPU's in 2006 :(

Thats what really gets me.....

This was meant to be a game that highlighted why having a PC is supperior than having a console, was really looking forward to it, now i just dont care.

Wish consoles would just vanish sometimes.....

It was meant to be the killer game to sell Vista systems, as it was to be Vista exclusive. Unfortunately Microsoft wanted it as an X360 exclusive; they paid off the developer and the PC version was jettisoned. Pretty sad that in an era when more and more publishers / developers are supporting the PC in multiplatform releases that Microsoft - the developer of the Windows platform - is going in the opposite direction, destroying the Halo 2 port and buying up content (why couldn't the GTA4 DLC be released for PC?).

Still, it's not really a big loss. In catering to the console audience they shifted the focus of the game from survival horror / thriller to action horror, which is of much less interest to me. The recent video I saw of it looked pretty weak.

Without the 360 PC would not have got many multiplatform games in the past 2 years so its indirectly keeping the PC afloat as MS, Nvidia & Intel made developer tools to convert 360 code back into PC friendly code as they share similar architecture. If Sony had dominated this would have been much more costly to do. 360 & PC can & do co-exist together the real issue is PC piracy as despite the PC being 250M plus gaming PC's few games sell 1M let alone more so the focus is now on the consoles & unlikely to change for the next 3 years if ever as game development now runs well into 8 figures for a top title so the only way publishers can ensure it will make money is to go multiplatform game design.

If Alan Wake does well on X360 then 6-9 months later it will come to the PC as Remedy will see it as another chance to recoup more of the development costs (which must be massive by now!).

remember they were using this game to sell quad cores when they first came out

years later not even out on consoles and PC version scrapped complete bull marketing

As others have said, its on hold pending teh 360 release.

Ridiculous as I remember this being the title that was going to showcase the wonders of DX10. Here we are starting DX11 and its still no closer.

Well every site I look at has this for pre-order now so I think it must be coming out. One site has a release date of 20/7/2010

I'd forget about this game, I remember seeing a video when dual core processors where about to come out and the developers where saying how well itll pay when we finally get quadcores, now we're passing i7's and its still no where near:rolleyes:

Be surprised if we ever see this. I remember seeing it previewed in PC Gamer mag years ago. Looked good.... back then.
